Sony has decided to put their OLED HDTV project on the backburner for now, after realizing that consumers just weren’t ready to shell at $2,500 for a tiny 11 inch screen. We think that’s totally understandable and we wouldn’t pay it either. Sony say they plan to continue research on making cheaper LCD displays for the time being.

Panasonic release a new VIERA V Series LCD TV which has energy saving technology and a slim design. The model coming with 2 different sizes, such as the 58-inch (TH-P58V1) and 65-inch (TH-P65V1). The Panasonic Viera V Series will be available on September 15, 2009 with a price of 550,000 Yen Japan (P58V1) and 700,000 Yen Japan (P65V1).

Sony has recently unveiled the new Sony Bravia EX1 which is claimed to be the world’s first LCD TV with an integrated high-definition wireless connectivity. This slim LCD TV will be available in 40-inch, 46-inch or 52-inch screens and features Motionflow 100Hz technology, Bravia 2 picture engine and Image Blur Reduction. Here is the new slim Sony Bravia KLV-40ZX1M LCD TV that will be released during Christmas 2008. Measuring 9.9mm thick and weighing at 26 pounds, the LCD TV can be wall mounted and offers 1080p resolution, LED backlighting, 120Hz Motionflow technology, Bravia Engine 2 video processing, and an HDMI input. There is no word on pricing at this time.
