LGX110 Notebook: The Complete Net Book Package

This is LG’s entry to the netbook market and is a force to be reckoned with. The specs are all the latest in the terms of the netbook competion but what sets it apart is the integrated HSUPA 3G connectivity which makes it truly wireless and a netbook in its own right.

Specs:
• 10in screen
• 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU
• 1GB of RAM
• 80GB, a 120GB or a 160GB hard drive
• Integrated HSUPA 3G connectivity
• b/g Wi-Fi or 10/100 Ethernet connections
• Multi-format media-card reader
• 1.3-megapixel Webcam
• Optional Bluetooth
The shipping date is very soon although the exact date is not known yet and the price according to LG would be very much the same as other netbooks. If it was already out, I’d definitely get one today! Price TBA.

Best Buy Bloatware Removal: Another Scam or Actually Useful?

Best Buy is known for it’s questionable practices sometimes. From useless warranty programs, to basically forcing extras down your throat. So naturally, when they offered to give me a bloatware free machine, when I bought my Dell Inspiron 1525, I was a little apprehensive. But it was only $30, and I can’t stand the bloatware that comes loaded onto brand new computers. Not only do they remove the bloatware, but they do the whole setup process, which usually takes a couple of hours, and my time is valuable. My only complaint, is that they couldn’t remove Norton Internet Security, which still comes up everytime I turn the PC on, but I’m sure I can take care of that myself. All in all, not a bad deal, and I can finally say something positive about a Best Buy extra.
