This is a breakthrough for Sony. Their Hana Akari Lamps uses dye-sensitized solar cells to turn light into energy. Good thing about them is that they are less costly as compared to traditional solar cells. Another thing is that they are made to be pretty to look at, as in these lamps. This is just the start, but Sony has big plans for this technology. Imagine your whole house being “painted” with these? Amazing!
